Following our recent successful clearance of Sea Buckthorn on Beadnell dunes we are now focusing on transplanting Marram Grass into the bare sections that have been cleared. This conservation work will allow the dune to re-establish and stabilise itself with the natural dune grassland that should be found at this Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). We will also be focusing on the removal of the non-native plant species Pirri Pirri Bur which is present at the site. This dune conservation work at Beadnell will improve the grassland habitat for a variety of native species and we can't wait to see what grows there in the future!
Sturdy footwear and suitable clothing is required. Equipment, PPE and refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch.
