Coast Care are working in partnership with Embleton Parish Council and Embleton Quarry Steering Committee to assist in the management of this nature reserve.
We're focusing on vegetation management across the site, clearing scrub and removing invasive species. Each activity involves something a bit different.
In March the tasks will be focused upon the protection and conservation of an area where bee orchids grow on site. The group will help with small scale scrub clearance to prevent further encroachment into this area and redirecting a trail to prevent walkers damaging the bee orchids. There will also be a session to relocate tree saplings to a more suitable area which will allow the current site to be taken back to grassland which will allow the natural flora of this area to flourish.
